Welcome to the first post in my Let’s Discover: Orange County series—a neighborhood-by-neighborhood guide to the vibrant, diverse, and downright amazing communities that make up OC. And what better way to kick things off than with my brokerage’s home turf: Huntington Beach! 🙌
A Little History of Surf City 🕰️
Before the boardwalks, surf contests, and beachfront condos, Huntington Beach was all ranchland—literally! In the late 1800s, it was known as Shell Beach and was part of a Spanish land grant. The town was officially incorporated in 1909 and named after Henry E. Huntington, a railroad magnate whose Pacific Electric Railway brought visitors (and homebuyers!) to the coast from Los Angeles.
What started as a sleepy seaside escape quickly became known for its perfect waves. By the mid-20th century, HB had claimed its title as Surf City, USA, thanks to its consistent swells and passionate surf culture. The iconic Huntington Beach Pier became a symbol of SoCal living and is still the heart of the city today.
Why I Love Working in Huntington Beach 😎
This one’s personal: my real estate office is located right here in Huntington Beach, which means I get to blend business and beach vibes every single day.
Whether I’m hosting an open house a few blocks from the ocean or chatting with clients over coffee on Main Street, there’s a rhythm to this city that just feels good. Being based in HB means I have boots-on-the-sand insight into local trends, hot neighborhoods, and the heartbeat of the market.

Dog-Lovers, Rejoice: Welcome to Dog Beach! 🐾
Okay, pet parents—this one’s for you. One of my favorite things about Huntington Beach? It’s incredibly dog-friendly.
The city is home to the famous Huntington Dog Beach, a 1.5-mile stretch of sand where pups can run off-leash, dig in the sand, splash in the waves, and live their best beach life.
From pet-friendly patios to annual dog events (like Corgi Beach Day—yes, it’s a real thing), HB has a warm welcome for four-legged family members.
